Executive Team

Hugh Arthur, CEO/Founder

Mr. Arthur currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Auto~Star Compusystems. Mr. Arthur co-founded Auto~Star Compusystems in 1980. In addition to his role on the executive team, Mr. Arthur is responsible for the analysis and implementation of the technical direction of Auto~Star’s software applications. Prior to accepting the position of CEO, Mr. Arthur served as Vice President of Research and Development. Mr. Arthur attended the Computer Science Engineering program at Medicine Hat College. He is actively involved in numerous local non-profit organizations, and participates as an advisory committee member for the Medicine Hat College Science division.

Robert Symmonds, President

As President and General Manager of Auto~Star, Mr. Symmonds sets the overall vision and direction for the company. Mr. Symmonds has been with Auto~Star for nearly 10 years. In 2001, he joined the executive team, accepting the position of Director of Operations. Shortly thereafter, he added the role of General Manager to his responsibilities. Prior to that, Mr. Symmonds served as Manager of Technical Services. Before joining Auto~Star, Mr. Symmonds served as Accounts Payables Manager for the Western Division head office at Beatrice Foods Inc. He also acted as Assistant Manager for Testfit Holdings’ retail division. Mr. Symmonds holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business and is currently completing the requirements toward an accounting designation. Mr. Symmonds actively participates in numerous local charities and is a member of the Medicine Hat College Business Administration Advisory Committee.

Hung Le, Vice President

Mr. Le is Vice President of Auto~Star Compusystems. Mr. Le joined Auto~Star in 1986, and is the lead engineer for Auto~Star’s Star~Link Head Office application. In addition to his responsibilities on the executive team, Mr. Le plays a key role in developing and training junior developers. Mr. Le holds a diploma in Computer Science Software Engineering and the Academic Excellence Award from Medicine Hat College. He is active with Medicine Hat Immigrant Settlement Services.

Ivan Long, Director of Operations

Mr. Long is Director of Operations for Auto~Star. He is responsible for managing the technical services, product development, quality assurance, and internal networks. In addition to his responsibilities on the executive team, Mr. Long works closely with Auto~Star’s marketing division. Mr. Long joined Auto~Star’s Technical Services department in 1997, where he worked with customers in the areas of technical support and project management, in addition to playing a lead role in internal network design and implementation. Prior to his position as Director of Operations, he served as Manager of Technical Services. Mr. Long joined Auto~Star with valuable experience in Enterprise IT and retail. He holds a diploma in Computer Systems Technology from Medicine Hat College. He is an active volunteer for the Canadian Red Cross, a student of martial arts, and a part-time Information Technology instructor at Medicine Hat College.
