MEDICINE HAT, ALBERTA – Auto~Star Compusystems has announced that the Star~Plus point of sale solution, designed for retail environments, has met the guidelines and requirements set forth in Visa’s Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) and is compliant with the Payment Application Best Practices (PABP). Star~Plus was assessed and validated by the QPASC certified vendor, igxglobal, Inc.

Visa developed the Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) to assist software vendors in creating secure payment applications that help merchants and agents mitigate compromises, prevent storage of sensitive cardholder data and support overall compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The PCI DSS is a multifaceted security standard that includes requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures.
