Star~Plus Point of Sale PA-DSS Compliant

MEDICINE HAT, ALBERTA – Auto~Star Compusystems Inc. announced today that V8.0 of the Star~Plus point-of-sale has been validated by PA-QSA certified vendor, igxglobal, Inc. as compliant with the PA-DSS version 1.2 requirements.
The PA-DSS (Payment Application Data Security Standard), formerly known as the Payment Application Best Practices (PABP), is the global security standard created by the PCI Security Standards Council. The goal of PA-DSS is to help software vendors and others develop secure payment applications that do not store prohibited data, such as full magnetic stripe, CVV2 or PIN data, and ensure their payment applications support compliance with the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
Through the PA-DSS, Auto~Star is committed to developing software that:
